Mummies, slurpees, and Klingons...oh my!

So far it's been a great weekend! Yesterday I went with my friend Katrina to see the "Mummies of the World" exhibit at the Leonardo in Salt Lake. It was amazing and I learned a lot! When I think of mummies I usually just think of Egypt but this display has mummies from all over the world. I guess I didn't realize other cultures have preserved their dead in similar ways to what the Egyptians did. It was very interesting. If you live near Salt Lake you should go check it out. It's totally worth it!

After seeing all the mummies we went and got slurpees.
You can't go wrong with a piƱa colada slurpee!

With slurpees in hand we met up with some other friends at the Redwood Road Drive-In (yes, they still have one of those in West Valley!) We saw the new movie "Star Trek Into Darkness" and it was awesome!

It was a fun day with friends!

Water Birds

Wow, it's been a long time since I blogged! Life has been a little busy since I started commuting to SLC. I started riding the train to work and that helps make the commute bearable. After work each day when I head for the train station I get to walk along the Jordan River and I love watching all of the birds! I've seen ducks, geese, coots, pigeons, swans, robins, finches, seagulls, magpies and more! Today I was lucky enough to get some good pictures of the babies! Here are some of the pictures I've taken during my walks.

I'm still trying to capture a duck diving. It makes me laugh every time to just see their butt above the water with their feet kicking. Here is a picture I found online that shows a great view, haha!
